We were honored to have Kofi Woods, the Minister of Labor of Liberia (second from the left), attend our workshop at Booker Washington Institute (BWI). Here Heidi is presenting a teacher with a laptop.
Asumana Randolph reuniting with a classmate, now a teacher of auto mechanics.
BWI is one of the few schools in the country that provides its students with electricity to study after dark. Its library is also one of the largest.
Upon entering BWI's library, we not only saw the books we donated on the shelves, but students were actually studying from them!

Electronics class
In the electronics department, students take apart old electronic devices to see the practical application of what they learn in the classroom.
Ten years ago, I-HELP sent BWI old computers from Hunter College and Hunter College High School. They're being put to use!
"City University of New York" label.
Lacking sufficient computers for everyone, BWI makes use of somewhat outdated technology to train students in typography.
Little things can make us happy. This is a chair that Mr. Randolph recognizes from Hunter.
During the war, the BWI campus became home to many refugees. Some are still there, having no other place to go. This is a girl who lives on the campus.
